The e-mail below was sent to Rietvlei Management and we are awaiting a reply from them.

"We have received a lot of complaints from diffrent forums and groups about the state of Rietvlei's angling grounds. It has been months now that there is no more electricity in the ablution blocks and the water has also now been cut to the ablutions, so they are in a very bad state at the moment. The grass is not maintained and there is litter everywhere. Please could we have feedback with regard to this problem as soon as possible? This e-mail was posted to all the forums and your feedback will be updated with all the forums. Thank you so much."

Feedback recieved:

A very big thank you to Roelof and his wife who put a letter together and drove to the government buildings and delivered it in person to the right authorities.

Last year the local municipality did not put aside any sort of budget for the upkeep of rietvlei, this year money has been put away for rietvlei, and work on restoring the ablutions and angling area will commence on the 10th of March this year. The contractors has already been out to access the site and what needs to be done. So hold thumbs as it looks like things will move in a positive direction.

The Municipality apologized for the state of the angling area at the moment.
