Report on the SACS Seminar: 26 February 2011
by Francois Pretorius
28 February 2011
MORE ARTICLES

I would like to start this report by thanking God for giving us such a pleasant day for having this event. I would also like to give a special thanks to Tjaard, the owner of Misty lakes, for all the effort in cleaning up the field for parking and fixing the road so that normal vehicles could travel easily as well. It was really a great weekend.

Our presenters had everything covered and I mean everything. Gilbert and Loutjie started the day off with: “What it takes to get your mindset right to take on specimen angling and what it means to angle with the right mindset”. After all… this is the essence of achieving success. They explained why specimen anglers should not have loud music, sharp lights and all that next to the bank.

Then we had Chris Liebenberg who covered one of the bigger topics, “Water Craft “. This was very insightful as most of the anglers who attended the seminar was either thinking of converting to the specimen style or was in the process of converting. The information he shared was priceless and the guys realized how technical and through how much trouble specimen anglers go to target those big fish constantly. It was real an eye opener for some people.

Then we had Maruis le Roux with his “Carp Safety” session which everyone enjoyed. He covered from A – Z and he did it in such a way that no one will ever forget it again. And if I say everything, I mean everything. Anglers were provided with tips and techniques not only for carp fishing but for themselves during their sessions as well. He even provided tips on your photography and taking your own photos when there is no one else to do it.

We had Karel with a brand new bait boat design which he demonstrated on the day. His website opens this week and we will provide the link to you. You can check out the demo’s on the site. The bait boat makes a 16m radius feeding zone, very impressive.

Then Maruis displayed his PB Products there on the day. The quality of the products is top of the range and the prices are really good. I fish with his stuff and it is very happy.

We had Clinten from Racer eyewear who offered the guys unbelievable good prices once of only. He tried his best in the demonstration to break these glasses and the frames, with no luck. Top quality eyewear just how we like it.

Ziyaad from dynamic angling had some awesome products there on the day and offered the guys prices that you will not find anywhere else in SA. Some of the guys went on a shopping spree on the weekend like you could not believe. Dynamic angling is located in Pretoria in the family market.

Then Danie from Viskasie in Carltonville had all of the new Super Cast fake baits and flavorings there, which was a big hit as well.

Karin who is the owner of Martin Louw Baits and Johann and Werner from Goliath tackle was there as well. They sponsored vouchers and MLB products to make the day a huge success. Werner also demonstrated his bait boat design on the day and the anglers were all impressed.

I would like to thank each and every person who attended this SACS seminar. Without you it would not have been possible. We will keep you up to date to when we will have events. I hope that all of you learned something to give you the edge on getting those monster carp on the bank.

Leave only footprints and take only pictures. Until next time…

I think it was a huge success. Is a pity we did not get as many SACS members to attend as we would have liked.

But i still think it was a great day. Big thanks to Francois and Nico and all the suppliers who made the effort to make the day such a huge success.

The guys that were not there really missed out! Gilbert,Louwtjie, Marius and Oom Chris really educated the guys in a fun way. I believe alot was learned as the seminar and it was nice to see some new faces and guys that were hungry to learn.

Then we had some awesome deals on products never to be repeated again. Example- I bought +- R500 endtackle at R150 the retailers that made the effort and drove all the way sold their stock at cost just to be apart of the day and try to get to know their clients better.

Francois and his team well done on a lekker day, I know how much work, time and effort goes into organising an event like this! You guys can be proud of yourselves....

Ek is nou so gestock ek verwonner of ek nie n spesiewinkel moet begin nie? Lol!

SACS bestuur: WELL DONE! Loutjie/Gilbert: DANKIE MANNE!

FISH FOR THE FUTURE....
